Victoire Focx was founded by Constance Victory in 2007 when her eager curiosity and fascination with the architectural motifs of Roman and Florentine cathedrals inspired her to create a small collection of handbags and belts. Teaching fashion styling and design by day at a Harlem charter school, Constance Victory spent evenings slinging hangers in the coat rooms of swanky Meatpacking District restaurants and night clubs to finance her dream and launch the first Victoire Focx collection for Fall/Winter 2009.

The first collection, titled "Bag to the Basics; a Return to Luxury" – consists of handbags whose shape and textile design are inspired by colorful stained glass windows and ornate church facades. A large part of the brand aesthetic is to pair rare hand painted exotic skins – caiman crocodile, python and lizard – with rich nappa leathers to create one of a kind pieces that possess a unique "old world" charm. In a market that is saturated with mass produced goods, Constance Victory aims to revive true luxury by marrying intricate design detail with skilled workmanship.

Exotic leather patchwork is a staple to the collections aesthetic, and such elaborate detail helps distinguish the bags from its competitors within the luxury goods industry. Pieces are produced in limited numbers and acute attention to detail is seen in the craftsmanship. All bags are lined with the signature "Victoire-ian" purple suede, reminiscent of the royal purple hue worn by Roman emperors and Florentine aristocrats.

Constance Victory currently resides in New York City where she continues to build her brand, while freelancing as a fashion and wardrobe stylist. Her professional experience includes assisting former fashion director of ID magazine Patti Wilson, in addition to working as production assistant for Alek Wek 1933 Ltd, and Be&D accessories. She credits her apparel design training at the Rhode Island School of Design along with her travel excursions throughout Europe for cultivating the aesthetic sensibility used to design her collections.
